History
MedX Medical Machines where invented by the late Arthur Jones (founder of Nautilus Sports Medicine). As the story goes Arthur was inspired when he discovered that many of the worlds strongest men had extremely weak lower backs and suffered from often dibilitation chronic back pain.
Arthur Jones felt that if he could build a machine that could isolate the muscles of the low back he could efficiently strengthen the back and signifiantly reduce their back pain. He found to truly isolate the low back muscles you needed a way to "lock the pelvis" in order to "activate" the spine muscles. Arthurs persistance paid off and after several years of research and dozens of prototypes MedX was born.
Arthurs internal studies proved MedX to be an amazing tool. He discovered that isolating the low back muscles could result in incrediably fast strength gains, in almost every age group, which directly corrolated to the stability of the back and reducing in back pain.
The first clinical studies at the Univeristy of Florida and University of California San Diego proved MedX could reduce or eliminate back pain in over 75% of the subjects.
Since those early studies there have been literly dozens of followup studies and many with equal or greater results.
